The Bank of Japan said on Wednesday Governor Ueda has been admitted to hospital and is expected to remain there for about two weeks, and will therefore be absent from the June 15-16 monetary policy meeting. Deputy Governor Himino will chair the June meeting, and Deputy Governor Uchida will hold the post-meeting press conference. The BOJ said Ueda is expected to attend the July 30-31 policy meeting.
