Mutual funds have invested more than CNY6 tln in advanced manufacturing and sci‑tech innovation stocks. ETFs are increasingly used to channel capital to tech innovation and connect financing with the capital market. Year-to-date, the Shanghai Stock Exchange has listed six broad-based STAR Market ETFs and nine STAR Market industry-themed ETFs, with underlying themes including chips, chip design and artificial intelligence. As of end‑May 2026 the SSE’s STAR Market ETF lineup comprises 67 broad-based ETFs, 48 industry thematic ETFs and six strategy ETFs.
