June 11 — At Lianyungang port, Jiangsu, the pure-electric tug Yungang Electric Tug No.9 successfully fed power back to the grid, marking China’s first bidirectional interaction between a new-energy electric vessel and the grid. The 7-hour trial delivered 80 kW peak discharge and 560 kWh total, overcoming high-humidity, high-salinity marine stability-control challenges and signalling a step in extending the energy internet from land-based vehicle–grid applications to maritime scenarios.
