Iran said a U.S. military shell struck a cargo vessel from Sirik in the Gulf of Oman early on the 11th, Sirik’s mayor in Hormozgan province reported. The ship, carrying daily necessities, departed the Omani port of Haisab at about 0500 local time bound for Sirik and was struck roughly 5 nautical miles off Haisab. All five crew were rescued with help from passing vessels and transferred to Oman.
