On June 11, US President Trump said US forces would hit Iran "very hard" that
night, then said he called off the operation. US forces had struck multiple
locations in Iran over the previous two days. Ebrahim Azizi, chairman of the
Islamic parliament’s National Security Committee, told media on June 11 the
exchanges should not be viewed as war but as US high-pressure measures aimed at
securing objectives. Azizi said the US is using military pressure to bolster
negotiations for demands it failed to win on the battlefield and that Washington
must accept today’s Iran, hardened by conflict and advanced in military,
defense, political and economic capacities, is not the same as before.
