South Korea's national ready-mix concrete drivers union began suspending
deliveries in the Seoul metropolitan area from Monday, the union said, in a
stoppage involving about 8,000 members demanding higher haulage rates and other
adjustments. Union members on Thursday blocked supply at two Pyeongtaek concrete
plants, pausing concrete pours at a Samsung Electronics chip plant; industry
sources said pours at SK Hynix's Yongin fab were also halted after deliveries
were canceled. SK Hynix said it has adjusted construction sequencing and expects
limited short-term impact; Samsung declined to comment.
