Iran’s foreign ministry strongly condemned an Israeli strike on a residential
area in southern Beirut on the afternoon of June 14, saying the attack wounded
multiple Lebanese civilians. Tehran said the incident violated Lebanon’s
sovereignty and territorial integrity and seriously breached an April 8
ceasefire understanding with the United States. Iran reiterated that the US
bears direct responsibility for Israel’s actions and repeated ceasefire
violations, said it will take all necessary measures to exercise its right of
self-defense, and warned that the US and Israel would be held accountable for
any dangerous consequences to regional peace and security.
