June 14 — The Israel Defense Forces said Chief of Staff Zamir, during an inspection of the northern command, told commanders the IDF will continue to deepen military operations in Lebanon to seek more favorable terms in forthcoming US‑mediated Israel‑Lebanon talks. Zamir held a situation assessment with divisional and brigade commanders, described the regional situation as "sensitive and complex," and said Lebanon is the IDF's "core strategic direction" while the military remains on heightened alert for developments on other fronts.
