Bank of Japan said pass-through from rising oil prices is developing relatively rapidly and could push up consumer prices across a broad range of goods.

At a June 16 results briefing, Zangge Mining said its Mami Cuo salt-lake project is expected to start production in Q3 2026 and enter a capacity-release phase. The company said it is pushing to advance the project and guided 2026 output of 20,000–25,000 tonnes. Mami Cuo’s salt-lake lithium carbonate resources are about 2.17 million tonnes and the project is planned for 100,000 tpa lithium carbonate capacity.

Japan Meteorological Agency said Ibaraki Prefecture issued an earthquake early warning; buildings in Tokyo were reported shaking.
