June 16 — Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian told a regular briefing Beijing has noted the Iran‑U.S. first‑phase MOU includes reopening the Strait of Hormuz. He said the strait is used for international navigation and an early restoration of safe, free passage is in all parties' interests. China is willing to maintain communications with relevant countries and the international community and will continue to fully safeguard Chinese‑funded vessels and Chinese seafarers.
