June 15 — The China Futures Market Monitoring Center said a futures account has been opened for special pension assets (state-owned equity and cash-income) used to top up the social security fund; Galaxy Futures opened the account. The account may conduct hedging within existing rules. Under a strict risk-management framework, this is the first formal introduction of futures hedging tools for pension assets, expanding the social security fund’s risk-management toolkit and providing an institutional safeguard for long-term preservation and appreciation of pension assets.
