Asset Management Association of China (AMAC) said May saw 1,693 newly registered
private funds totaling CNY 68.81 bln, including 1,101 private securities
investment funds totaling CNY 37.79 bln; 123 private equity funds totaling CNY
8.77 bln; and 469 venture capital funds totaling CNY 22.25 bln. As of end-May,
142,470 private funds were active with combined AUM of CNY 23.53 tln, including
82,759 private securities funds with CNY 7.92 tln AUM; 29,713 private equity
funds with CNY 11.37 tln; and 29,335 venture capital funds with CNY 3.98 tln.
