China's mission to the EU said it is strongly dissatisfied and firmly opposed to
the EU's decision to add Chinese firms to a new round of Russia sanctions and
has lodged a stern protest. It accused the EU of ignoring prior Chinese
objections, said the measures lack UN Security Council authorization and an
international-law basis, and warned it will take all necessary measures to
protect the legitimate rights of Chinese companies; China reiterated its stated
support for a political settlement of the Ukraine crisis.
