Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh said on Wednesday he wants markets to price securities based on their own read of the economy rather than on expectations of how Fed officials will interpret data. "The more markets focus on real economic changes and can judge which data are more or less important, the more they will form pricing they consider most likely," he said, adding this would avoid a situation in which "financial markets are merely echoing what we have said."

The PBOC and other Chinese regulators said they will, when conditions mature, timely and comprehensively explore developing offshore financial business. Measures under consideration include optimizing offshore lending models and expanding offshore banking products and services; studying the feasibility of offshore financial-asset transfer businesses; and developing offshore asset management by supporting asset managers to design client-aligned, internationally compliant products and conduct overseas asset allocation. Regulators will also study the orderly development of family trusts and family offices to build an offshore wealth-management hub.
