CHINA STATE PLANNER spokesman Li Chao said at a June 18 press briefing that as
of June 16 coal stocks at centrally dispatched power plants were 210 mln t,
equivalent to about 34 days of supply. The agency said it will guide and
supervise primary energy production and supply, tighten safety oversight,
strengthen coal transport guarantees, and push efficient performance of mid- and
long-term power-coal contracts to ensure stable energy and power supply through
the peak summer period.
