From June 16-18, the Ministry of Natural Resources’ East China Sea Bureau deployed research vessel Xiangyanghong 22 to survey China’s jurisdictional waters east of Taiwan island. The multidisciplinary campaign collected seawater environmental DNA (eDNA), seabird and cetacean observations, marine chemistry and hydro‑meteorological data to support habitat mapping, ecosystem health assessment and marine biodiversity protection in the area.
