Iranian state broadcaster on June 18 said the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps navy will continue to control the Strait of Hormuz. Eleven vessels were expected to arrive at an Iranian port that night, five of them oil tankers.

Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh gave no forward guidance at a press conference but said he has heard FOMC members say the Fed still has "some work to do" to achieve price stability. On artificial intelligence, Warsh said the technology could be the most significant economic change of his adult life, bringing both opportunities and risks. He added that if the Fed "does its job" it can sustain strong growth, price stability and robust employment.
