Quilter strategist Lindsay James said the Bank of England is likely to keep
rates unchanged for several months to await further UK data and assess the full
impact of the Middle East conflict. Domestic political uncertainty could
constrain the BoE's ability to adjust policy, making a wait-and-see stance more
likely than near-term action. LSEG data show markets price roughly 29bp of
cumulative BoE tightening by December.
