June 19 — A Japan-related vessel with three Japanese crew successfully transited
the Strait of Hormuz out of the Persian Gulf and is en route to Japan, Prime
Minister Takaichi said. With that transit, all vessels carrying Japanese crew
have left the Persian Gulf; the government coordinated with Iran during the
passage and, citing a recent US‑Iran memorandum of understanding, will continue
diplomatic efforts to restore free, safe navigation and to secure transit for
the remaining 37 Japan-related ships as soon as possible.
