In an Axios interview, Trump said a war with Iran “could trigger a global
depression” and asserted his deal prevented that outcome. He said action against
Cuba “could be” as swift as U.S. moves on Venezuela, noting both are
geographically close while Iran is “far.” On Israel, he claimed “if not for me,
Israel would not exist today,” saying he terminated the Obama-era Iran nuclear
deal (JCPOA), which he described as a path to nuclear weapons. On post-conflict
limits on presidential authority he said there are “no limits” in practice,
adding he has “not learned that lesson” and that limits exist only “in theory.”
