A seminar promoting the 9th China International Import Expo (CIIE) was held in Oslo, attended by about 40 Norwegian companies and institutions. Norwegian participants said they value trade with China and will mobilize resources and firms to take part in the CIIE to showcase high-quality products, advanced technologies and professional services, deepen Norwegian presence in the Chinese market and strengthen bilateral trade cooperation.

On June 19 the DRC health ministry reported the current Ebola outbreak has 933 confirmed cases and 245 deaths, an overall case fatality rate of about 26%. Health minister Roger Kamba said 416 patients are hospitalised in Ebola treatment centres and 80 have been discharged; treatment capacity has been expanded to over 516 beds and more beds are being added to admit new community cases and manage suspected cases pending confirmation.

Shaanxi provincial statistics bureau: Jan–May industrial value-added of enterprises above designated size rose 4.9% YoY. Sector drivers: coal mining and washing +11.9% YoY, chemicals +10.9% YoY, oil and gas extraction +7.7% YoY, and railway/ship/aircraft and other transport equipment manufacturing +18.2% YoY. Industrial investment increased 2.8% YoY. Retail: retail sales of consumer goods by enterprises above the designated threshold +1.0% YoY, merchandise retail +1.1% YoY. Foreign trade: total goods imports and exports 371.322 bln yuan, up 83.6% YoY — fastest growth nationally — with exports shifting toward newer and higher-quality products.
