Foreign ministers of Egypt, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkey met in Cairo on
the 21st and issued a joint statement saying the US‑Iran conflict poses
significant risks to regional security, international energy markets, maritime
trade routes, global supply chains and international trade. They welcomed the
recent US‑Iran memorandum of understanding as a constructive step toward
de‑escalation and urged all parties to honor commitments. The ministers said the
US and Iran should sustain current momentum, promptly complete next‑stage talks
and agree a durable, verifiable and mutually acceptable solution that addresses
regional states' concerns.
