GBP/USD rose about 20 pips to 1.3236 after MP Burnham announced a bid for UK prime minister and a former cabinet minister said they would back his candidacy.

The National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) today released its 2025 Annual Report on New Drug Registration Clinical Trial Progress, showing China’s total number of drug clinical trials surpassed 5,000 for the first time. The report says 248 new drugs received regulatory approval following clinical trials in 2025, covering 18 indication areas including oncology, endocrine and psychiatric disorders.
