Iran’s Supreme National Security Council said on the 18th that for 60 days it will not charge merchant vessels applying to transit the Strait; under Article 5 of the U.S.-Iran memorandum applicants must submit filings to the Persian Gulf Strait Authority and the Iranian government will cover any fees during the 60-day period.
