The Times of Israel reported Israel's ambassador to the US sharply criticized
the Trump administration for agreeing to fold Iran into a Washington memorandum
on Lebanon ceasefire talks signed last week, calling it a "disaster." He is
leading the fifth round of direct Israel-Lebanon negotiations at the State
Department. He said when Israel and Lebanon began direct talks "we all boarded
the same train," with the US as the locomotive aiming for comprehensive peace,
the removal of Iranian influence from Lebanon, the disarmament of Hezbollah and
security between the two countries. He warned the train now risks derailing and
said he hopes to get it back on track.
