Multiple media, citing gaming industry insiders, report Alibaba plans to sell
its gaming arm Lingxi Interactive Entertainment and has engaged five potential
buyers: listed game firms 37 Interactive Entertainment, China Ruyi, Century
Huatong and Giant Network, plus a buyout consortium of two private equity firms.
The deal is said likely to be a package sale covering Lingxi’s five in‑house
development studios and the 9Game and JiaoYimao platforms. Reported price range
is RMB7–9 billion (about $1.0–1.3 billion). Alibaba did not respond to requests
for comment by June 24.
