European Commission president Von der Leyen said on the 25th the EU has sent €3.2 bln to Ukraine, the first disbursement from a €900 bln loan package designed to cover Ukraine’s 2026–27 fiscal needs. The European Parliament approved the €900 bln loan in February and the EU gave formal approval in April.
