China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology opened a public consultation on planned standard projects, soliciting comments on three industry standards — including the industry standard "Open-source HarmonyOS Devices: Unified Interconnection, Access and Control Interface" — and nine recommended national standards.

The Persian Gulf Straits Authority (PGSA), which approves and regulates maritime transit through the Strait of Hormuz, said any passage not following PGSA-approved routes will be treated as unauthorized and will be outside the agency’s security guarantees. The PGSA said liabilities from using unauthorized routes will rest with shipowners, operators and masters. The warning follows a new attack near the Strait of Hormuz that U.S. officials told the Wall Street Journal they attribute to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and which targeted a Singapore-flagged cargo vessel.
