On June 26 the Seoul Central District Court handed a first‑instance sentence of seven years to Kim Keon‑hee, wife of former South Korean president Yoon Suk‑yeol, after convicting her of using influence to accept high‑value gifts and sell public offices.

On June 25 at a White House event with US farmers, President Trump said the US will soon use unfrozen Iranian assets to purchase large quantities of US wheat, soybeans and corn, saying Iran currently faces food-supply difficulties and the program will begin shortly and be large in scale. US officials have repeatedly said Iran would use thawed funds to buy US agricultural goods; Iran denies those claims.
