The Radio Administration of China’s Ministry of Industry and Information
Technology and Egypt’s radio regulator held their first bilateral
satellite-network coordination talks in Giza on June 22-25, 2026. Under the ITU
Radio Regulations, the parties consulted on more than 40 agenda items for
multiple high- and low-Earth-orbit satellite systems, covering satellite
communications, satellite meteorology and Beidou short-message services. They
exchanged views, reached several agreements and signed meeting minutes. The
talks are intended to promote frequency compatibility and shared use between the
two countries’ satellite systems, accelerate China’s international
satellite-network coordination and support Chinese aerospace projects.
