CENTCOM said U.S. forces struck Iranian missile and drone storage sites and
coastal radar installations on June 26 in retaliation for a June 25 one-way
attack-drone strike on the merchant vessel Ever Lovely transiting the Strait of
Hormuz. CENTCOM said the Iranian action violated a ceasefire agreement,
threatened freedom of navigation on a key trade route, and that U.S. forces will
continue to coordinate and support safe passage for ships through the strait
while maintaining a presence to enforce agreements with Iran.
