After two strong earthquakes, Oil and Gas Minister Paula Enau said on June 26
local time that oil production has not been affected. Venezuela is producing
about 1.2 mln bpd, the government has reviewed domestic inventories, and
domestic gas and fuel supplies are secure; all wells are operating. Company
managers and field workers reported no significant damage to oil and gas
facilities. Preliminary assessments earlier indicated major facilities were
largely spared because they are distant from affected cities, though power
outages could constrain output.
