On the 27th local time, WHO's Africa regional office and the Africa CDC opened a
continental Ebola emergency command centre at Makerere University in Kampala,
Uganda, to coordinate and strengthen regional prevention and response. The
centre will operate under "one plan, one team, one budget and one monitoring and
evaluation framework" to provide unified coordination, minimise duplication,
strengthen accountability and accelerate implementation of control measures in
affected and high‑risk countries.
