Jiangxi province issued an orange torrential rain warning and a blue flood alert
early this morning. The Jiangxi Meteorological Observatory upgraded to orange at
08:52 after heavy rain hit Jingdezhen and northern parts of Shangrao and
Nanchang over the past three hours; another 30–50 mm is expected over the next
three hours, locally exceeding 60 mm, with short-duration intense downpours and
thunderstorms. A hydrology monitoring center at 08:30 issued a blue flood
warning for the Chang River in Jingdezhen’s urban section, forecasting a flood
roughly 1.0 m above the warning threshold within about eight hours.
