Today (30th), with the final unit at the Shaping I hydropower plant on the Dadu
River synchronized to the grid, the Dadu River hydropower base added over 2.0 GW
of clean capacity, making it among the first river basins to deliver
concentrated, large-scale hydropower commissioning under China’s 15th Five-Year
Plan. Sichuan’s total clean-energy installed capacity has exceeded 130 GW, with
hydropower accounting for roughly 80% of the mix. In the Yalong River
water-wind-solar integrated base, the world’s largest hybrid pumped-storage
project, the Lianghekou hybrid pumped-storage power station, has entered a
critical phase of full-scale construction.
