MERZ said he will, in response to remarks by Trump, raise at next week’s NATO summit the need for Germany and Europe to increase their contributions to NATO.

Zelenskiy said a NATO summit and other meetings will be held in the coming days, and that one of the most important outcomes should be strengthened air-defence capabilities.

Both sides agreed to implement outcomes from the WTO’s 14th ministerial meeting and to deepen cooperation on trade, investment and multilateral issues; the UK highlighted opportunities from China’s services liberalization and proposed policy dialogue, a UK‑China services partnership and a feasibility study on a services trade agreement.
