German Chancellor Merz held a phone call with Ukrainian President Zelenskiy to discuss Russian airstrikes on Kyiv and other parts of Ukraine.

Argentina's government late on the 2nd issued a decree abolishing the Interior Ministry and transferring its functions to the Chief of Cabinet's office. The office will assume coordination with provinces and cross-jurisdictional responsibilities previously handled by the Interior Ministry, and will manage federal-level tourism, environment, sports and science and technology. The decree also establishes two deputy cabinet minister posts to assist the chief of cabinet.
