South Korea's ruling Democratic Party on the 4th said it 'strongly regrets' a
recent US report on e-commerce firm Coupang, calling the findings 'seriously
inaccurate' and accusing Coupang of trying to shift responsibility for a
large-scale user data breach onto the US report. The US House Judiciary
Committee earlier issued an interim report saying Coupang had long been a
'target' of the South Korean government and alleging South Korea has conducted
'compulsory investigations, excessive regulatory burdens and heavy fines and
penalties' against US firms.
