U.S. Naval Forces Central Command said on social media that the U.S. Navy
suspended active search at 1500 local time on July 5 for a sailor assigned to
Sea Combat Helicopter Squadron 5 who was embarked on the USS George H. W. Bush.
The sailor went missing after an MH-60S Seahawk made an emergency water landing
in the Arabian Sea on July 1. U.S. Navy and Air Force units conducted a
large-scale joint search-and-rescue within CENTCOM’s area of responsibility for
more than 102 hours, covering over 14,000 square miles, before ending active
search efforts.
