China's foreign minister Wang Yi met Finland's foreign minister Valtonen in Helsinki on the 5th. Wang said Finland was among the first Western states to establish diplomatic ties with China and the first to sign an intergovernmental trade agreement. The Israeli Defense Forces said earlier today it detained dozens of settlement activists who tried to cross into Syria and handed them to police for questioning. The activists, who call themselves 'Bashan Pioneers', have made repeated crossing attempts over the past year and press for establishing settlements in the area; they have support from some lawmakers. The IDF described the incident as a serious criminal act that endangered soldiers and civilians.

China's logistics prosperity index rose to 50.6 in June, up 0.3 ppt MoM and remaining in the expansion range, with a balanced recovery across regions. Nine of 12 sub-indexes were in expansion; the business volume index was 50.6 (+0.3 ppt MoM) and the new orders index 50.3 (+0.1 ppt MoM). Manufacturing logistics demand firmed — strongest gains in electronic/mechanical equipment, communications equipment, transportation equipment and energy‑saving home appliances — while household consumption logistics were stable, with holiday spending boosting wholesale, retail chains and some supermarkets.
