China said it will provide additional assistance to Venezuela after the earthquake, adding a RMB 100 mln emergency grant to earlier hard-currency aid. A first chartered shipment of more than 80 tonnes of government relief—generators, water-purification vehicles, tents and blankets—has arrived in Venezuela. China has supplied satellite imagery of the affected areas, and Chinese firms and expatriate communities in Venezuela have provided machinery and food. China said it remains willing to offer further support as the situation develops; President Xi Jinping sent a condolence message to Acting President Rodríguez.
