Shanghai will convene a citywide mobilization meeting on agricultural science-and-technology system reform, the municipal agriculture and rural affairs commission said at a July 8 press briefing. Director Feng Zhiyong said the meeting, to be held soon, will strengthen organized agricultural R&D, raise the effectiveness of the agricultural science and innovation system and drive development of new-quality agricultural productivity under Shanghai’s 15th Five-Year Plan for rural revitalization.

World Gold Council senior analyst Krishan Gopaul said Czech National Bank data show reserves rose 1.6 tonnes in June, marking the 40th consecutive month of net purchases. Year-to-date net buys total nearly 11 tonnes, lifting holdings to just over 82 tonnes.
