Ukraine struck two Russian oil tankers in southern Russia with drones, hitting vessels in Taganrog Bay as Kyiv expands attacks on ships carrying fuel amid nationwide gasoline shortages. The Rostov region governor said both tankers caught fire and suffered "mechanical damage", with one blaze extinguished. Kyiv has intensified strikes on Russian energy infrastructure in recent weeks, including refineries, aiming to cut fuel production and pressure the Kremlin; several major refineries have been forced offline, exacerbating shortages. Russia has banned almost all gasoline, jet fuel and diesel exports to prioritise domestic supply. Kyiv has also targeted small tankers heading to Crimea and Ukrainian officials say multiple vessels in the Black Sea have been struck.
