At a July 10 press briefing, China’s foreign ministry said it announced yesterday that North Korean premier Pak Thae-song is visiting China and that both sides have agreed to jointly hold commemorative events for the 65th anniversary of the China–North Korea Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance. Details will be released in due course.

Most-active domestic futures were mixed at the midday close: pulp and palladium rose over 3%; SHFE silver and industrial silicon gained about 3%; eggs, platinum, polysilicon and live hogs advanced more than 2%; synthetic rubber added roughly 2%. On the downside, Shanghai crude (SC) dropped nearly 3%; benzene, coking coal and PTA fell over 2%; coke, palm oil and lithium carbonate slipped about 2%; low-sulfur fuel oil (LU) declined more than 1%.
