Typhoon Bavi (No.9) is expected to affect eastern Hubei, Jiangxi and Anhui in the middle–lower Yangtze between July 11–13. The Yangtze River Maritime Safety Administration raised its typhoon emergency response to level II for the main Yangtze stretch from Anhui to Sichuan from 18:00 on July 11.

Descalzi called for diversification of supply sources and routes — highlighting North Africa, sub‑Saharan Africa, Latin America and Southeast Asia — and urged reduced reliance on sea lanes under concentrated control.
