Yangtze River Maritime Safety Administration said a full navigation ban is in
effect on the Yangtze mainline from Ezhou (Hubei) to Ma'anshan (Anhui) from July
11 due to Typhoon Bavi. Joint forecasts expect the typhoon center to pass near
the Wuhu section around 16:00 on July 12, with winds reaching force 8 and
significant impact forecast for Huangshi, Jiujiang, Anqing and Wuhu, Wuhu worst
affected. The administration has activated a Level II typhoon emergency
response. Passenger vessels, construction vessels and small port craft have
ceased operations; chemical tankers, container ships and vessels carrying coiled
steel, oversized cargo and liquefaction-prone bulk cargoes have stopped work and
moved to safe anchorages.
