Tropical Storm Bavi, the year’s ninth system, was centered at 08:00 on July 13
over Sixian County, Suzhou, Anhui (33.4°N, 117.9°E) with maximum outer winds of
force 8 (20 m/s) and central pressure 992 hPa. Bavi is moving northeast at 10–15
km/h, expected to weaken slowly, cross the Shandong Peninsula into the northern
Yellow Sea during daytime July 14, and gradually become extratropical after July
15.
