CSI 1000 index futures (IM) front-month contract fell more than 4.0% intraday to 7,772.0 points.

Tehran University senior researcher Mohammad Eslami said under Article 5 of a memorandum of understanding the United States has accepted arrangements for Iran and neighboring states to jointly manage the Strait of Hormuz. He said Iran's position is "very clear" — to advance a "new management" model — and stressed Tehran does not seek to close the strait. Eslami added Iran has engaged the US, Oman and several European countries on the framework and said if Washington disputes its interpretation of Article 5 it should consult Tehran.

South Korea's KOSPI fell 6%; SK Hynix down 10.7%; Samsung Electronics down 6.6%.
