China foreign minister Wang Yi met Kazakhstan foreign minister Koshyrebayev in Beijing on July 13. Wang pledged Chinese support for Kazakhstan’s chosen development path and offered to deepen bilateral exchanges, governance-experience sharing and pragmatic cooperation to expand their permanent comprehensive strategic partnership. China welcomed Kazakhstan’s accession to the International Mediation Institute, praised its constructive role in the China–Central Asia mechanism, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and CICA, and Koshyrebayev signed the institute’s convention with Wang witnessing.

China's trade surplus narrowed 4.7% in 1H 2026 as imports grew faster than exports, China Customs said. Customs reiterated China is the world's largest exporter and second-largest importer and said it will continue to actively expand imports during the 15th Five-Year Plan period to promote more balanced import-export development.
