During Shanghai’s summer peak, State Grid Shanghai Electric coordinated 16 data
centers — including China Telecom Shanghai, GDS, Shanghai Yidian and Alibaba
Group — in a two‑hour all‑mode compute‑power dispatch that reduced peak load by
up to 97.8 MW. The exercise is the largest single‑city compute‑load regulation
in China to date and the first field test to simultaneously dispatch three
paths: flexible load adjustment, backup diesel/generator switching and
cross‑domain compute transfer.
